「她正艱難地呼吸著,像她那一生艱難的生活。」來自於當代著名作家史鐵生的散文《秋天的懷念》，文中描述了史鐵生對已故母親的回憶，表現了史鐵生對母親深切的懷念，對母親無盡的愛，以及史鐵生對「子欲養而親不待」的悔恨。這句話前半句表現了母親病情發作時生理上的痛苦，後半句說母親由於生活狀況的問題造成心理上的艱難，特別是他雙腿癱瘓後對母親造成的影響，表達了他的無耐與自責之情。史鐵生（1951年1月4日—2010年12月31日），原籍河北涿縣，1951年出生於上海，1967年畢業於清華大學附屬中學，1969年去延安一帶插隊。因雙腿癱瘓於1972年回到北京。後來又患腎病並發展到尿毒症，需要靠透析維持生命。自稱是「職業是生病，業余在寫作」。史鐵生創作的散文《我與地壇》鼓勵了無數的人。2002年獲華語文學傳媒大獎年度傑出成就獎。曾任中國作家協會全國委員會委員，北京作家協會副主席，中國殘疾人協會評議委員會委員。2010年12月31日凌晨3點46分因突發腦溢血逝世。1979年他開始文學創作，1980年他的母親（49歲）突然過世。《秋天的懷念》，盡管文字很朴實，但卻是作者生活的真實體驗。《秋天的懷念》當時是作者人生最波折的時候寫的文章。字里行間里流露了他滿心情緒的宣洩，以及對生活如此不公的報怨。可是他想表達的並不是在這層面上，他不只是告訴大家他的情緒、他的憤懣，他想說的是當你的不幸降臨，並不真的天崩地裂了，你的不幸也是你親人的不幸，記住關心你的人比你更難過。史鐵生的母親只是想讓兒子，看看「北海的菊花開了....」告訴他的兒子坦然面對生活。可是兒子與母親並沒有一起去看北海的菊花，但兒子從母親的死真正領會了生活的真諦！也就是無論生活把你打倒多少次你都要勇敢的站起來，微笑面對生活。事實也是如此，之後史鐵生的作品充滿勵志，《我與地壇》鼓舞了無數的人。《秋天的懷念》，感傷、淡淡、平靜，「又是秋天，妹妹推我去北海看了菊花。黃色的花淡雅、白色的花高潔、紫紅色的花熱烈而深沉，潑潑灑灑，秋風中正開得爛漫。我懂得母親沒有說完的話。妹妹也懂。我倆在一塊兒，要好好兒活……」。借花朵的各種顏色體現出了作者希望活下去的情感。作者對母親的懷念在另一篇散文《我與地壇》中也有同樣的表現：「在我的頭一篇小說發表的時候，在我的小說第一次獲獎的那些日子裡，我真是多麼希望我的母親還活著。我便又不能在家裡呆了，又整天整天獨自跑到地壇去，心裡是沒頭沒尾的沉鬱和哀怨，走遍整個園子卻怎麼也想不通：母親為什麼就不能再多活兩年？為什麼在她兒子就快要碰撞開一條路的時候，她卻忽然熬不住了？莫非她來此世上只是為了替兒子擔憂，卻不該分享我的一點點快樂？她匆匆離我去時才只有四十九歲啊！有那麼一會，我甚至對世界對上帝充滿了仇恨和厭惡。後來我在一篇題為「合歡樹」的文章中寫道：「我坐在小公園安靜的樹林里，閉上眼睛，想，上帝為什麼早早地召母親回去呢？很久很久，迷迷糊糊的我聽見了回答：『她心裡太苦了，上帝看她受不住了，就召她回去。』我似乎得了一點安慰，睜開眼睛，看見風正從樹林里穿過。」小公園，指的也是地壇。」......附《秋天的懷念》原文：雙腿癱瘓後，我的脾氣變得暴躁無常。望著望著天上北歸的雁陣，我會突然把面前的玻璃砸碎；聽著聽著李谷一甜美的歌聲，我會猛地把手邊的東西摔向四周的牆壁。母親就悄悄地躲出去，在我看不見的地方偷偷地聽著我的動靜。當一切恢復沉寂，她又悄悄地進來，眼邊紅紅地看著我。「聽說北海的花兒都開了，我推著你去走走。」她總是這么說。母親喜歡花，可自從我的腿癱瘓後，她侍弄的那些花都死了。「不，我不......
